High Fructose Zombies Vol 1 Premieres at NYCC 2014

Plus Zomfloats, Zomrats, Zomcookies, Zombabies and more!!

New York, NY, October 9 – Hide your taste buds, because your sweet tooth could be the end of you! Brooklyn-based artist Sarah Braly and her husband David Phillips will premiere Vol. 1 of their comic High Fructose Zombies at New York Comic Con, completing their 6 issue storyline. Sarah has some extra treats in store for attendees, offering a host of new zomfectionary figures, at the The Block booth 220 at New York Comic Con, in the Javits Center from October 9-12.

If you don’t already know the terrifying tale behind High Fructose Zombies, then it’s time to remedy that: When a brand new candy bar starts turning people into zombies in the small, humble town of Sweetooth, it's up to Clea Brown and her ragtag group of friends to stop the evil Yumzy Corporation from reigning down the sugarpocalypse!!

Sarah and David started their creative exploits a week before their wedding 3 years ago. It has since exploded into a figurine series rarely seen in the indie creator scene. Her undead delights include zomcakes, zomfloats, zomcreams, zombabies, zomrats and more!

Each figurine is hand sculpted in Super Sculpey, a plastic based clay, and painted with acrylic paint. The first run of zomcakes premiered at last years NYCC in 2013, and sold out so quickly, Sarah had to race home after each day and make more.

“I’m a completist,” Sarah says. “ I want to see the whole vision – comic book, action figure, the works. But that is rarely a reality in the indie comic scene. So I decided to do something about it.”

Sarah is becoming the go-to expert for creating one of a kind figurines for independent comic creators, bringing 2D to 3D, each with their own hand-made packaging! Her work has been employed by Penguins vs Possums, Bigfoot: Sword of the Earthman, Jetplastic and more.
